![]() Ainz on the other hand sees them as his friends' children and does what he can to protect them. Parental Abandonment: They view their creators as Supreme Beings who left them behind for unknown reasons and latch onto Ainz as the only one who didn't.Their reaction to this is death or horrible torture to anyone who dare sully the name of their master. Also, the one pet peeve they have in common is anything that they consider an affront to Ainz. Most of the plot kicks off when Ainz unthinkingly says conquering the world might be interesting, which Demiurge interprets and relays to the other guardians as an ironbound command to Take Over the World. Overzealous Underling: The guardians live only to serve Ainz's wishes, even when he gave no indication of what he wanted.Unless the Supreme Beings who created them said otherwise. If he says the sky is yellow with purple polka-dots, then the sky is yellow with purple polka-dots. My Master, Right or Wrong: Momonga/Ainz's word is law.I Want Grand Kids: Wouldn't be actual grandparents but most of them love the idea of raising Ainz's children and strongly encourage him to have them. Many will not even bat an eye towards overusing them as livestock, eating them, torturing them For the Evulz, or other horrifying things. Humans Are Insects: With rare exception, the Non Player Characters in Nazarick all hold the view that humans have no inherent worth.Home Field Advantage: While most Floor Guardians are theoretically no stronger than a single level 100 player, they are positioned in custom-built boss rooms that turn them into a threat to even a full party of level 100s.So far, this has resulted in Ainz's favor, such as Cocytus showing honor and being capable of leadership and Shalltear proving herself capable of reigning in her bloodlust. Therefore, he places the guardians in situations that would allow them to come up with their own ideas. Hidden Depths: Now that most of the Guardians of Nazarick have sentience and personalities, Ainz wanted to know if they can be capable of things other than being fanatically loyal to him and obeying his every command.Such is their devotion to Ainz that they think failing to accomplish his commands or living up to his expectations is a grave sin. They consider being praised for their work as an honor they deem themselves unworthy of receiving and the rewards bestowed upon them, no matter how meager or insignificant, as blessings from the almighty. Happiness in Slavery: While Ainz considers everyone in Nazarick as children under his care, the Guardians, and really every single denizen of Nazarick, think that they only live for one purpose: to serve the last Supreme Being without fail. Some like Demiurge and Albedo show Resourcefulness Albedo and Shalltear display Love towards Ainz (accidentally programmed in the former's case, while the latter was programmed to be a necrophile) Cocytus and Sebas have shown Honor. Evil Virtues: Loyalty above all else, as they are all fanatically loyal to both Ainz and Nazarick. To this end, Ainz placed some of them in situations in which they would have to think for themselves about what Ainz really wants them to do instead of simply following Ainz's orders. Now that all but one of the floor guardians are sentient, Ainz wanted to see if they can develop traits beyond what they already possessed. Blue-and-Orange Morality: Ainz cannot fathom how some of the guardians operate or just how far they're willing to go to obey what they think are his orders.Berserk Button: Anything that they consider an offense to either the name, actions, or character of Ainz is sure to elicit a negative reaction from them.Balance of Power: One exists between the physical fighters Albedo would beat Sebas, but lose to Cocytus, who would lose to Sebas. On the flipside: Aura, Cocytus, Mare, and Victim are less enthusiastic of killing minions if they can prove themselves in other capacities. Bad Boss: Albedo, Shalltear, and Demiurge are more than willing to fatally dispose of subordinates who fail them.Apologizes a Lot: The guardians are quick to apologize when they think they've said something to offend Ainz (who usually needs it explained to him how it could have been taken as an insult). As the Supreme Beings' chosen elite, the denizens of Nazarick show proper respect to the Floor Guardians for their immense authority and terrifying power. In theory they answer to no one but Momonga, but in practice are obligated to coordinate with Albedo so that their actions do not interfere with one another or instructions Momonga exclusively assigns to the Overseer. ![]() Absolute master of an assigned floor, a Floor Guardian directs entire armies and powerful subordinates of their own in defense of the Great Tomb. The Floor Guardians are the inner circle of Non Player Characters who directly serve Momonga as executive lieutenants and advisors.
